Account Settings

Customize your account, manage security, set up branding, and configure your preferences.

Getting Started

Your account settings control everything about how Freelance Trackr works for you. Take a few minutes to personalize your experience and ensure your account is secure.

💡 Quick Access

Access your settings anytime by clicking your profile icon in the top-right corner, then selecting "Settings".

Profile Information

Your profile information appears on your invoices and in communications with clients. Keep it up to date!

Profile Fields:

Full Name

Your name as it appears on invoices and emails

Email Address

Your primary email for login and notifications

Business Name

Optional: Your company or freelance business name

Phone Number

Contact number shown on invoices

Address

Your business address for invoices

Tax ID / VAT Number

Optional: For tax compliance on invoices

Important: Changes to your profile information will apply to all new invoices. Existing invoices will keep their original information.

How to Update Profile:

  1. 1. Go to Settings → Profile
  2. 2. Edit any field you want to update
  3. 3. Click "Save Changes"
  4. 4. Your changes are applied immediately

Security Settings

Protect your account with strong security practices. Your financial data deserves the best protection.

🔒 Security Best Practices

  • ✓ Use a unique password (not used on other sites)
  • ✓ Make it at least 12 characters long
  • ✓ Include uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols
  • ✓ Change your password every 3-6 months
  • ✓ Never share your password with anyone

Changing Your Password:

  1. 1. Go to Settings → Security
  2. 2. Click "Change Password"
  3. 3. Enter your current password
  4. 4. Enter your new password twice
  5. 5. Click "Update Password"

Changing Your Email:

  1. 1. Go to Settings → Security
  2. 2. Click "Change Email"
  3. 3. Enter your new email address
  4. 4. Enter your current password to confirm
  5. 5. Verify the new email via the link we send

Forgot Your Password? Use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page to reset it via email.

Account Activity:

Monitor your account for suspicious activity:

  • • View recent login history
  • • See devices you've logged in from
  • • Log out of all other sessions remotely

Branding & Logo

Make your invoices truly yours by adding your logo and customizing colors.

💎 Premium Feature

Custom branding is available on Supporter and Champion plans. Upgrade to remove the Freelance Trackr branding and add your logo!

Uploading Your Logo:

  1. 1. Go to Settings → Branding
  2. 2. Click "Upload Logo"
  3. 3. Select your logo file (PNG, JPG, or SVG)
  4. 4. Crop/resize if needed
  5. 5. Click "Save"

Logo Requirements:

  • Formats: PNG (recommended), JPG, SVG
  • Dimensions: 500x500px minimum, square or landscape
  • File Size: Maximum 5MB
  • Background: Transparent PNG works best

Color Customization:

Premium users can also customize:

  • • Primary brand color (used in headers)
  • • Accent color (used for buttons and highlights)
  • • Text color preferences

Notification Preferences

Control which emails and notifications you receive. Stay informed without being overwhelmed.

Notification Types:

Invoice Activity

When invoices are viewed, paid, or become overdue

Payment Notifications

When payments are recorded or partial payments received

Subscription Updates

Billing reminders, payment confirmations, plan changes

Product Updates

New features, improvements, and announcements

Marketing Emails

Tips, best practices, and occasional promotions

💡 Recommended Settings

We recommend keeping these notifications ON:

  • ✓ Invoice viewed notifications
  • ✓ Payment received notifications
  • ✓ Overdue invoice reminders
  • ✓ Subscription billing notifications

How to Change Preferences:

  1. 1. Go to Settings → Notifications
  2. 2. Toggle each notification type ON or OFF
  3. 3. Changes save automatically

General Preferences

Customize how Freelance Trackr works for you with these additional settings.

Currency & Formatting:

  • Currency: Choose your default currency (USD, EUR, GBP, etc.)
  • Date Format: MM/DD/YYYY vs DD/MM/YYYY
  • Timezone: For accurate timestamps on invoices

Invoice Defaults:

  • Default Template: Choose which template loads by default
  • Payment Terms: Set default payment terms (Net 15, 30, etc.)
  • Tax Rate: Set your default tax rate
  • Notes: Add standard notes that appear on all invoices

Data Export:

Download your data anytime:

  • • Export all invoices as CSV
  • • Export client list
  • • Export payment history

⚠️ Account Deletion

Need to delete your account? You can do so from Settings → Account → Delete Account.

Warning: This action is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data will be permanently deleted.
